The mechanic is responsible for the set-up and maintenance of Production Equipment (Sterile Filling, Packaging) and/or Facilities. Responsibilities include set-up, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment, analyzing equipment operational issues, and providing corrective actions to solve issues.


  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety policies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
  • Communicate with production operators and other shifts mechanics.
  • Maintain and secure work tools.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • Perform back-up for packaging line.
  • Install facility machinery.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Required Skills, Knowledge
    • Proven mechanical aptitude
    • Control systems troubleshooting experience
    • Good written and spoken communication
    • Experience with filling and packaging equipment
    • Experience with hydraulic equipment such as pumps and valves
  • Preferred Skills, Knowledge
    • Cleanroom and aseptic filling training
    • Machining and/or welding capabilities
    • PLC and controls experience
    • Electrical training and certification
    • Multilingual – Spanish

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a food and beverage or pharmaceuticals manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge in aseptic manufacturing process a plus

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Skill required in one or more of the following areas: , mechanical, electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

  • Standing, Walking, Sitting, Reading, Stooping, climbing Ladders, crawling in/ through low spaces.
  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift (8 hours).
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift up to 30 pounds required.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles.
  • Work in a fast paced environment

  • Spare parts ordering
  • Purchase Order management
  • Inventory management
  • Standard Operating Procedure Development
  • Maintenance planning
  • Maintenance scheduling
  • Training where applicable


Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and spoken communication
  • Ability to plan and run multiple projects
  • Cleanroom and aseptic filling training a plus
  • Experience with cMMS and ERP software a plus (Dynamics GP Preferred)
  • Maintenance and Reliability Professional Certification is a plus
  • Multilingual is a plus
